Glossary
Many people have slight variations in how they choose to use language. This glossary hopes to give you an insight into what words and phrases I use, and give you the definitions that I use for them. Some may just be odd words that I use frequently enough to have a dictionary definition on hand. Others might be more novel. Let’s do this.
ADHD - Why I’m like this. Also see Autism.
Art - The practice of human expression. (yeah, it’s vague. I stand by this. Fight me, I dare you.)
Art (Bad) - Art of shoddy or low quality, as interpreted by the audience. I include the artist as a member, perhaps the only member, of their audience.
Art (Good) - A trap for perfectionists that prevents them from learning and improving their craft. Instead, see Art (Bad).
Autism - Hey! I’ll have you know I have no such diagnosis. Yet. Also see ADHD.
Autotelic- Having a purpose in and not apart from itself. Intrinsic.
Bisexuality- Attraction to two or more Genders. See Gender (human).
Cyberpunk- An artistic genre that forms a dystopian critique of late stage capitalism, frequently through its use of tragic storytelling, Sci-Fi settings, punk themes and aesthetics, and illustrations of social inequity and collapse. This shit fucking rocks.
Gender- A fake, imagined, or artificially constructed category of thing. Eg: “The four Genders of climbing: Boulder, Top Rope, Lead, and Trad”
Gender (human)- A fake, imagined, or artificially constructed category of human. Eg: “The two Genders: Male and Female”
God Bless America- See Stim. Began as a sarcastic political refrain upon hearing news of our continued national spiral into insanity.
God Is Dead- See Stim. Began as a sarcastic refrain upon hearing news of our collective continued spiral into a corporate cyberpunk surveillance hellscape. See Cyberpunk.
Microslop- Purveyors of mass surveillance, war crimes, and the Windows Operating System.
Stim- The repetition of physical movements, sounds, words, moving objects, or other behaviors.
